Jan 2026 – Fast and Frozen

And we are off! Welcome to 2026!

Compared to last January, which I think lasted a total of 743 days – this January flew by with alarming speed.

The Georgia General Assembly gaveled in and within seconds we had a flurry of data center related bills.

Highlights include the following. Shockingly – no real low-lights yet (on data centers – we are parsing our way through a bunch of other things related to health that may prove to be alarming).

If you want to come on down to the Capitol – I am there all the time. I am happy to show you the (literal) ropes and also the two headed cow.

Check out our monitoring here and our Advocacy Toolkit here.

We had Environmental Justice Day on Jan 29 and it was amazing. More than 160 strong! Including 35+ people who got on a bus from Valdosta at 3am!

On non-legislative things.

A Georgia Science Junction in Augusta, where we talked about the SSE4 pipeline expansion.

A jam-packed Knots! Climate Survival Training.

February will be short on days, but not on things to do!

Feb 27! Jazz Hands! – Science Stand Up Comedy.

Feb 7 – Kudzu Playtime – Rescheduled Date- Attend a Climate Survival Training and learn something useful to do with the stuff.

Feb 12 – Monthly Community Meeting – participate in shaping the future of Science for Georgia

Feb 15 – Monthly water testing at Everett Park

Feb 26 – Capitol Conservation Day with the Georgia Water Coalition

Feb 26 – Water Wars – a Georgia Science Junction on Georgia’s Groundwater

Thanks for being part of something amazing. We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you!
