Insect farming can produce efficient, shelf-stable, and sustainable protein without taking up the space of a farm. Our friends at WunderGrubs make a business out of this using just a couple shipping containers! Insects are healthy to eat, highly nutritious, used as a significant food source by millions worldwide, and cut down by orders of magnitude on environmental impacts compared to animal protein farming practices. You don’t have to eat bugs! You can eat bug related products that aren’t buggy at all! They create protein powder which is great in smoothies, pastas, sauces, etc! Its easy and fun!
Come learn with us at CreateATL on Sunday, Oct 6th at 1pm! We will be led around the facility at WunderGrubs by founder Akissi Stokes to learn together about this sustainable resilient food source!
Free admission and parking in the neighborhood!
Speaker
We’re Akissi and Karim, founders of WunderGrubs. The idea for WunderGrubs sparked years ago one night while we were watching Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, Haiti.
It inspired us to seek out a protein food source that provides people with the sustenance they need after a climatic shock and once the food relief trucks leave. Yet, requires very few agricultural inputs such as water, electricity, feed, and land which were typically scarce after such an occurrence.
