GSJ: Are AI and Crypto a sustainable future?

In current practice, Artificial Intelligence and Crypto Mining algorithms are very power hungry. The in-use and near-term planned data centers in Georgia will draw about 4000 MW (Megawatts) of power, which is enough to power about 1.8M homes (40% of Georgia’s housing units). As our power bills keep rising, and average humans look for ways to lower their energy consumption, will Crypto and AI gobble-up the gains we are making? Fortunately, researchers are working on new, energy-efficient algorithms.
