It’s a new year. We spent Dec wrapping up an amazing 2022, and planning for an even better 2023. We are excited about the upcoming events we have planned. Most importantly, in 2023 we are focusing on activities and information that will enable you to make Science Matter Here.
We kicked things off with a bang on Jan 1 at an Inspire Change Sustainability Event at the Atlanta Falcons Game. Thank you to the Mercedes Benz Stadium Green Team for hosting us. Be on the lookout for a tour of their zero-waste program later in the year.
Later this month we’ll have an Atlanta Science Tavern on the Science of Beer. And then in March we have the Science of Ice Cream and Jazz Hands: Science Stand-Up Comedy. Be on the lookout for community service events in the spring and summer.

Advocate for Science
For those of you wanting to make sure policymaking reflects evidence-based best practices, the Georgia General Assembly gavels in early in January and ends by the first week of April. Learn about our specific advocacy activities here.
We will be introducing a whole series of events, information, training, and activities to get you familiar with the policy making process and how you can effectively get involved. We will be building our Science Catalyzer Network and you are the key ingredient to success.
Environmental Justice and Climate Protection Conference
We are pleased to announce our second annual Environmental Justice and Climate Protection Conference. Taking place in June – it will bring together disparate audiences: academics, policymakers, community leaders, and business leaders to focus on solutions to address the health of Georgians.
Onward to 2023!
Thank you for making 2022 a smashing success. You are the most important part of Science for Georgia. We look forward to an amazing 2023 and hope that you’ll enjoy making science matter here.
