Emergency Preparedness

A lot had been happening lately. From severe storms, to floods, to fires, to boil water advisories. While we can’t control the weather, we can be prepared in case of an emergency.

An emergency preparedness plan consists of

  1. Packing an “emergency preparedness kit” to have everyone important in one place
  2. Setting a meeting point in case you get separated
  3. Deciding on a family “safe word” (esp. important for young children, so they know to trust a stranger)
  4. Discussing with your family and neighbors what to do and where to go in case of an emergency
  5. Double-checking your kit is up-to-date every six months
