Summary of event:
A murder most fowl has occurred! It was death by chocolate from poisoned brownies, which the victim could not resist. Microscopes can crack the case!
Join Georgia Microscopical Society (GMS) at the crime scene and microscopes to determine the which suspect is guilty. Learn from forensic microscopist how to collect, prepare, and analyze the evidence. You will examine trace evidence like hair, fibers, dust and (dun, dun, duuun!) poison to identify and compare to suspects using a range of microscopy methods from polarized light microcopy to microchemical test. Murders are no match against a skilled microscopist!
This Event will be hosted by MVA Scientific Consultants, a microscopy lab, and will be on Saturday November 16th starting at 10:00 am. Free brownies are included (eat at your own risk).
