This community science event invites individuals of all ages—students\, families\, community members—to get hands‑on with stream and watershed science right here in Gwinnett.\nParticipants will learn how to collect stream water samples\, perform basic water‑quality tests\, and gain insight into how healthy rivers and watersheds contribute to local environmental well‑being. As they monitor and learn\, attendees also get to engage with like‑minded students\, faculty\, and partner organizations to make a tangible difference in their community’s environmental health. With registration available via the link on the flyer\, it’s a great chance to contribute to a cleaner\, more sustainable Gwinnett region.

DESCRIPTION:Date: Sunday\, November 16\, 2025 \nTime: 10 am \nLocation: Everett Park \nAddress: 5106 Klondike Rd\, Stonecrest\, GA 30038 \nWe will linger in the parking lot for 5-10 minutes before heading down the trail along the water to those first shoals\, where we will be doing our testing and mingling etc…. \nThis past year at our Environmental Justice Forums/Townhalls we heard that people want to know more about what health risks from water and air are in their neighborhoods. So we have started on two approaches to that. First is the water testing project mentioned above. Adopt-A-Stream is a state program consisting of volunteers collecting data on the water sources in their neighborhoods and the area around Everett Park along the South River is not represented in this testing project. So we are getting this started\, not just to gather and monitor data\, but to help the community learn about water testing along the way.
